hermannHANS is a therapeutic massage studio for healing in San Francisco, California. We are committed to the overall wellness of the therapist, client, and environment by offering only certified organic oil and cream for massage and aromatherapy, 100% all natural cotton flannel sheets, 1″ thick deluxe fleece table pad, heated massage table, boxed water, hot towel service (to warm muscles and open pores), and unscented candles. Our commitment to total health will relax and nourish your mind and body ensuring you leave our studio with a healthy glow.
hermannHANS is centrally located in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission district. The quiet, peaceful space is beautifully furnished with all the amenities of an upscale spa massage treatment room, but with a private and tastefully modern vibe.
hermannHANS is headed by founder Hermann James Seemann a certified massage therapist licensed by the California Massage Therapy Council #37941.
Hermann has volunteered with various fundraisers and was also a massage therapist at Kabuki Springs and Spa for 6 years. He was also a massage therapist and operations manager at Archimedes Banya in San Francisco (rated one of the top 10 best day spas by Sunset magazine). At Archimedes, he trained in a variety of spa body treatments including venik platza, Turkish hammam, organic sea salt scrub, organic honey & sugar scrub, European moor mud wraps, and aromatherapy baths.
In 2010, Hermann left the corporate world that he proudly and successfully worked in for over 20 years (as a fashion stylist and then interior designer) for some serious soul-searching. He was invited to stay on an organic farm surrounded by redwoods, horses, and nature for seven months in Sonoma, CA. During this time, Hermann realized that his giving instinct combined with a lifelong commitment to health, fitness, and an organic lifestyle meant that his new career calling might lie in the healing arts. Always fascinated with human anatomy and understanding first hand the healing power of touch, Hermann determined that becoming a bodyworker/massage therapist made perfect sense.
